I received the new Macbook air yesterday afternoon. Faster CPU. More disk space. Faster drive. Better keyboard. Lower price. It was an easy decision to order this, especially that I had found an adoption family for my not so old Macbook pro.
So here is what i wrote yesterday evening after losing a few hours playing with the new baby.”I am returning this Macbook air because it just doesn’t work. I have had it for 4 hours.I initially copied my Macbook pro data on it but it wouldn’t accept the installation or reinstallation of Google Drive, a software that is essential to my work.I tried to start over with a fresh OS but it won’t reinstall. It’s as if the backup disk image is corrupted. I tried multiple times and I keep getting the message “An error occurred preparing the update”. So now, it won’t even boot.”
Conclusion: I recommend you wait a few weeks or months and let the early adopters troubleshoot the new hardware.
