At the intersection of arts and science…

I am a man at the intersection of arts and science.

An intellectual man can be great at passing tests and get through diplomation and become a doctor but he will never be a good doctor if he does not put care, warmth and empathy in his bedside manners and human relations.

A good doctor is at the same time a man of science and a man of people. He must be able to juggle statistical analysis and at the same time he must be able to kindly take the hand of an elderly woman and help her stand up and follow her for a nice short walk to test her balance and complete her neurologic exam.

A good doctor knows about the benefits of thousands of treatments but he is also able to take a 3 yo kid, tickle him, make him laugh and proceed to examin heart, lung and belly. This is a wonderdul profession that i’ve be given the privilege to practice for 14 years.
