In the many adventures and challenges life has offered me in the recent years, i have learned a lot about my resilience in the face of change and adversity.
I have learned to say YES to life’s opportunities because it means having the courage to try, to expose oneself, to make mistakes, to be vulnerable while opening up a world of opportunities.
I also learned to say NO because it represents the respect of self, of our own limits and of our time which is our most valuable resource. By saying no more often, by freeing myself from the pressures that our professional work ethic to often promotes, i understand now that sometimes saying NO really means saying YES to me and to those i love.
These two books have given me something to think about:
- The power of no by James and Claudia Altucher
- Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
