For the past year, I have been thinking about wellness, resilience and burnout prevention. I have given a burnout prevention workshop and I have worked with a large private company on a wellness approach for employees and clients. It revolves around one simple concept “We care”.
The pandemic and the sense of isolation that we share has propelled my reflection on the subject further. On a personal note, the simple principles apply. Here is my wellness approach.
I care about how I treat my body.
I make sure I move every day.
I care about how I treat my mind.
I feed my brain information that comes from the purest source.
I pause often and I take the time to think.
I also pause and breathe because awareness is the manifestation of a healthy brain and a resilient mind.
I care about how I feel.
I don’t avoid or ignore what my body, my mind and my heart feels.
I welcome the emotions that arise and I let them go.
Emotions are useful, they motivate action, they drive us.
When emotions stop being useful, when they paralyze us, we must let them go.
Awareness of this is important.
I care about the people around me.
I treat everyone with respect and benevolence.
In the comments, I will share a few resources that help me achieve wellness.
I share this because I care about all of you. I want you well even as we are facing the storm.
I care.
Thank you.
