Yesterday, I prepared a quick meal with my 12 year old son.
I want him to learn basic cooking skills and I find that white creamy sauce is one of them.
I love this simple bechamel recipe that takes less than 5 minutes to prepare.

Bechamel is a base white creamy sauce made of milk-butter-flour with salt and pepper.
We added spices, garlic, parmesan and we call this alfredo because its the same taste. In reality, this is mornay sauce. Classically, alfredo sauce is made out of thickened cream. But this is unimportant because, in the end, the taste is almost identical and this mornay sauce is so simple and fast.
Prepare fettucini. Grill some veggies and shrimp in the oven.
Set all the ingredients in a plate. Serve.
Less than 30 minutes later, we have ourselves a delicious meal.
After our meal, I ask Liam a few questions…
Was this complicated? No.
Is this better than Kraft dinner? Definitely! To be honest, this is the most dangerous question to ask because I was ready for an honest answer…. I trust our cooking skills so much that I had the courage to ask, LOL.
Can you do this again? Yes, it’s easy: milk – butter – flour – parmesan – spices, mix with cooked shrimp and fettucini.
