What emotional intelligence means to me…

When emotional intelligence emerges, it feels like removing a blindfold and seeing reality in an infinite nuances of colors.

When I am self-centred, it feels like my vision is restricted to black and white. When I am self-centred, life is a struggle, me versus the world, and reality is seen as a series of checks and balances where I always struggle be on top.

The real beauty of this world is felt through the vividness of relationships.

Emotional intelligence emerges when we turn our attention to others. When we care about someone, we discover the source of true happiness.

With this in mind, our lives become less about what can we get from the world and more about what can we bring to the world. The focus of wining versus losing fades away as we simply enjoy being together to welcome what life brings.

With this in mind, we can feel compassion for those who are self-centred as we would feel compassion for a blind person stumbling down the street.
