Every day, I read, see and hear news about our healthcare system.
Every day, I talk to patients and doctors.
I have come to see that we all want the same thing: better care.
And yes, when I say “we,” I did not forget the other people too… nurses, therapists, social workers, managers, clerks, cleaning crews and every trade not listed, every person that works in our healthcare system, we all want the same thing: better care.
But how?
Maybe the answer requires more than an accounting equation or more than money; maybe it starts with the right emotion and mindset.
Maybe we need to inject more care into healthcare…
Specifically, can we care more about the people that make healthcare possible?
In the workplace, people crave respect, recognition and support.
Give workers the respect they deserve.
Recognize their hard work and recent sacrifices.
Show support by giving them the resources they need to accomplish good work that they can be proud of.
And leave them some time to have a vibrant, balanced family and social life.
This idea might bring the best out of our people:
