I was in the hospital elevator this morning with my little surgical mask and three people. I realized that the network will struggle with an aerosolised virus that passes through masks without difficulty, infects vaccinees without problems and is frequently transmitted from an asymptomatic person. The crisis in the network will be, in part, a human resources crisis.
It is the bed closures that will make the sick suffer the most, especially people waiting for surgery and critical care.
Our government has suggested ways to help. It is our choice to comply.
We are all frustrated, tired and angry because this pandemic never seems to end. We all want to go back to life as it was, before Covid.
What must be done, should be done for those people we love and who are at risk of needing or waiting for services in our healthcare system.
Thank you.
