My wish for the new year

On the last day of every year, it is my habit to look back and appreciate the passage of our most precious resource: time.

The previous 365 days and 5,76 hours have been memorable in so many ways that I have trouble assimilating what I feel.

Thankfully, there was more joy than sorrow. I am fortunate and grateful.

We have remained healthy despite a global pandemic.

We have stayed sane and united. We got through hardships together.

We have adapted and made changes to the way we live.

We transformed our workplace.

Through all these challenges, we never sacrificed who we are.

2021 brought me pain and worries. But in 2021, I found so much love and happiness that I am hopeful and excited about our future together.

I have learned that, inside of me, between what happens and my reaction to it, there is a space where I find the freedom to make wise choices and where I can make any pain meaningful. In this thought, I find hope and courage.

I took the opportunity to find support in people around me. I am grateful to care for and be cared for by so many good people, family, friends and colleagues. This sense of belonging and mutual support play an essential part in my happiness.

All I need for 2022, and the only thing I wish for is a meaningful life with the opportunity to be with the people I care about and enough time to show how much I love them.

Thank you.
