I read this article this morning. Click on the photo, it’ll take you to Journal de Montréal

The article is in french. The subject is recurring and not new. The owner of a business recognizes the work of his employees and rewards them with a company trip to Disney Land with their family.
The main idea that catches my attention is not the size of the bonus but the key phrase:
“Productivity increases with recognition”.
People want to be recognized. This idea is easy to understand and very simple.
To bring out the best in someone, to access his/her discretionary effort, defined as “what I can do extra for you because I like you”, one simply has to recognize the other person and be grateful for his/her work.
This does not necessarily need a trip to Disney or a huge paycheck. It starts with an attitude.
Thank you.
