On the rise and fall of democracies…

The greatest power of democracy, that united people and grew countries out of tyranny, becomes the very poison that could bring them down into chaos — every voice counts.

My naivety is as good as your wisdom.

It does not matter if you believe in green gobelins or clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR), everyone has a voice in the ballot box.

There’s no law against ignorance.

When you add the power of social media to a democratic society, you also give everyone who owns a smartphone the power to speak publicly, and to potentially reach and influence millions.

Within a few decades, the voices of reason can get drowned in an ocean of social cacophony, where vindictive victimization and polarization become norms.
